Feeling It All...Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts
I think I'm getting old.
Well, yeah, I KNOW I'm getting old. The other day while while going after a recalcitrant chin hair I thought to myself, "I'll get you, you little motherfucker" and then I thought, "really Cynthia, REALLY?"
Life is ahhh...unexpected....isn't it?
We have tickets for Ian Hunter at City Winery tonight, with Amy Rigby and Wreckless Eric opening no less...but I'm not sure we're going to make it. It kills me but I'm just not sure. I started to waver, then I looked at the City Winery menu and saw a glass of wine is $12 and up. I know I could have one and nurse it all night but I won't....but figuring in the cost of gas, a couple of drinks and dinner....and we'd have to drive back after the show....I just don't know. Last weekend was busy, this weekend is busy, the following two weekends we have house concerts.....
Also, the last time I saw Ian was so spectacular that I don't know if anything could live up to it. Well, no doubt Ian could.
Eh, I don't know.
I have a consult with a surgeon this afternoon. It's timely because my back hurts like hell today. Earlier Ernie asked me if I was nervous and I said no but I guess I am a bit anxious. I'm great at denial....I'm a real bury my head in the sand kind of girl (my sister Judi would be laughing hysterically in agreement right now) and I don't really want to hear the reality of it all.
My sister Debbie called last night and asked if we'd gotten Leo's birthday picture yet and I realized that we'd FORGOTTEN. Leo sighed heavily but he didn't argue. This picture's not great and it's a tad blurry but it somehow captures the moment the best. My sweet, sweet fourteen year old. And good GOD do you think we could paint our porch?
We went out to dinner at Fries and Peanuts and a good time, and a lot of fried food God help us, was had by all.
When we got back to the car I looked at Judi's bumper stickers and looked at how faded they were. Free Tibet Now is almost completely white. So is the Clemson tiger paw.... I'd though about trying to get replacements, spending time one day googling Free Tibet Now bumper stickers on Google trying to find the exact one. I came to my senses and realized how stupid that was though. Ernie did suggest putting Rod Picott's Circus of Misery and Heartbreak sticker on the car and I did comment that it would work well with the Buddhist ones....
