Tom Mason, Maria Kowalski and The Glories of the Pirate

Good Lord but Tom Mason and Maria Kowalski gave us an amazing evening. Utterly amazing.

I have to admit I was incredibly tired....it's been a hell of a week, my back was hurting, and even though I was looking forward to it so much I was wiped out and worried about having enough people. Thankfully I was ablet to take home a ton of leftover food from a work event the night before so it took some cooking work off my shoulders.

As soon as Tom walked in the house with a big smile and arms out to give me an equally big hug, my energy started to return. Such a lovely, lovely man and Maria Kowalski was delightful, such a pleasure to meet her and of course her playing was phenomenal!

More thanks than I can possibly articulate to Tom for the joy he brought all of us. He lightened my heart.

Thanks to some of the new folks that joined us----Bill and Carrie and Joanna!!! Fabulous homemade macaroni and cheese and eclairs or cream puffs or something like that. Of course, actually the most fought over food of the night was the bucket of KFC and the pizza that my beloved Teri, Brian, Beth and Matt brought. In fact we discovered at the end of the night that both Tom Mason and Ernie had hidden pieces of chicken away to enjoy later. And god God I love it when Jim Dennison is there and brings food! Every thing was wonderful though....we are so blessed with the people that come to these. Tom had kind things to say about all our friends, old and new.

As I said to several people Friday night, these house concerts have been such a gift to us. We never planned it and never could have foreseen the gifts we have received. Each and every show and each and every friend we meet though is such a gift. Thank you Tom. Thank you Maria. Thank you all.
