Piercing the Fog
We pretty much laid low this weekend. Neither of us in the most wonderful of moods. Ernie's having a lot of back pain....still don't know whether it's the unmentionable or just plain old back pain. We're off to see the wizard, er, the oncologist, today so we'll see what he says. And we'll find out what Ernie's PSA is up tom as for some reason his test results are not showing up in his MyCarle account. Grrrr.
To brighten the weekend we made some amazing shrimp from Cheese and Crackers. Fresh head-on shrimp from Hawaii. I took one pound and shelled it and set it aside for dinner tonight. With the heads and the shells I made an outrageously shrimpy gorgeous stock....to be saved for jambalaya I think....
With the other pound we made New Orleans style barbecue shrimp. Utterly perfect. The shrimp was delicate and sweet and slathered in all that spice and butter and worcestershire....with french bread to soak up the juices.....it was lovely. I felt like it cleared my mind and pierced the fog for a moment. We went to bed early and let the guys stay up as they don't have school this morning.
and now my beautiful Jon Byrd....he pierces the fog too.
