Slog

Me

Slog, slog, slog. Rain, ice, slush, long week. I've said that already, haven't I? Work, trumpet recital, bleh. Owen said he should be careful not to overpractice. I told him I don't think that's really a big worry. I've been lousy at cooking this week but did manage a decent dinner of quasi-teriyaki boneless skinless chicken thighs, rice and a big salad of Bibb lettuce and avocado with an Asian vinaigrette. I love that vinaigrette. When you make it and taste it you think "eh" but then you dip a lettuce leaf in it and it's perfection. Yay...something's perfect!

Last night I got home from work and both boys were closed up in their rooms with their respective computers, trumpets, drawing, etc. It was kinda nice...and kinda not. Just the same I took advantage of the quiet and actually watched part of the national news without interruption. Odd.

Thunder in the night. Hattie has taken to sleeping next to my side, which is lovely, but somewhat constricting. I haven't been able to watch the Olympics this year. I don't know why....I used to enjoy it.

Slog, slog, slog.
