Sometimes I Just Can't Think of a Title for a Post
We had a lovely evening last night at a Richard Buckner house concert. When I got home from work I was mildly grumpy and concerned about not being home for Owen. Well, actually I was concerned about Owen and hoping he'd give me a foolproof out for skipping the concert. He failed to oblige however and Ernie said, "You're going, aren't you? I'm NOT going without you," so I sucked it up, had a glass of wine, listened to some Willie Nile (I WILL get your cd back to you Heather and Steve), got irritated with my children, convinced Ernie to take his expensive bottle of red wine so we didn't have to stop at the store and then we headed out. Of course once I'm out of the house I'm delighted that we're going. Why don't I ever remember that when I'm sitting there thinking I don't want to go out? Hell, I don't know.
Honestly the evening made me love house concerts more than ever. The house was completely different than our house, think Jack Baker, lots of white, BEAUTIFULLY decorated....instead of the ramshackle sensory overload of ours, and it worked beautifully. Richard Buckner looked kind of like a cross between a dark-haired Ernie, Neil Young, and Eddy Shaver if that makes any sense. AND we got to hang out with our beloved Sasha and chat to Bob Andrews who I like so damn much. Thanks so much to Lisa and Steve for hosting!
The evening made me even more anxious for our next show. DAVID OLNEY AND SERGIO WEBB! Ahhh....it's going to feel SO good! Two weeks from tomorrow folks!
