Happy Birthday Peter Cooper and A Few Random Notes

1. Lord I can't wait for school to be over. I know I'll be itching for the routine to start again come August but I am SO over nagging about homework and clean clothes.... Well, I suppose they should still wear clean clothes in the summer but you know what I mean....

2. A pretty good day yesterday but then it got even better when we watched a Stage-It with Eric Brace, Peter Cooper with Thomm Jutz and Irene Kelley. Those of you that are Eric and Peter fans....you really should do yourself a favor and watch these....they are wonderful little live concerts to tuck into your pocket. Irene sounded gorgeous.....both her voice and the songs...we can't wait to have her here in August!

3. After that we celebrated by making softshell crab sandwiches. It was my first time cooking them and I don't think I cooked them quite enough. Learning curve.... I looked at lots of recipes but ended up deciding to do a basic sandwich of fried crab with coleslaw on the side. I probably enjoyed the anticipation more than the reality but still good, and great fun!

4. Then Ernie and I went back to binge watching the tv show Parenthood. It's sometimes great, sometimes so-so but it ALWAYS feeds into that fantasy I think probably a lot of us have of a big extended family....one for all and all for one despite the squabbles and fuck-ups. I'm not sure if it's healthy for me to feed that fantasy or not...but I enjoy it just the same.

5. Wishing the Happiest of Birthdays to my beloved Peter Cooper.

6. I THINK the boys just successfully settled an argument about who gets to sit in the front seat on the ride home from school. Whew.

7. I love watching Owen mow. I did NOT photograph Leo doing his appointed yard work because I thought I might be dead in my bed right if I had. Man that boy can glare. I loved watching him too though.

8. You'll notice Owen is wearing his headphones. He wears them all the time so I have taken to texting him to let him know when it's time to converse with us.

9. Onward to the day.
