Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1. Good God....I managed to put my back out by doing something very dangerous and risky.

Yes, I did it while sleeping. Geesh.

2. Bad hard drive and fan on the computer. Hopefully it won't be as expensive as Annie's vet bill, but of course the major expense will probably be trying to get all our images/documents off our UNBACKED UP computer.

Sigh.

You'd think I'd learn.

No.

3. I've had a bad stomach for the last day or two. I'm thinking I need to see about changing my diet. It seems as though I get these little stomach things once or twice a month....and yet I can never point to anything in particular I ate. It's frustrating. I'm toying with the idea of giving up dairy for awhile and seeing if that makes any difference. That would mean no coffee-milk however. Gotta think about this....

4. Rascal is having such fun attacking Bob that we often see him racing through the room with a bit of Bob's fur dangling from his mouth. Poor Bob.

5. Raw Broccoli Salad recipe, as requested!

1 head of broccoli, chopped finely
2 cloves of garlic, finely minced
1 tsp of cumin seeds
1/4 cup (or a bit less) olive oil
Juice from 1-2 lemons
1/2 tsp or so of kosher salt

I toasted the cumin seeds and garlic in the oil first but you don't have too. Just mix everything together and let it sit for at least an hour or so. I think it's better the next day.

6. We got Owen the vinyl of one of his favorite Daft Punk albums and the boy was floating high. As he said, "This is my first record; it's important!"
