SaladFest 2014, Wild Ponies and Ernie's Favorite Drummer
I've deemed the potluck for Wild Ponies to be SaladFest 2014. Any kind of salad you can think of....green salads, pasta salads, bean salads, fruit salads...... It's so nice to be getting fresh, local vegetables and fruits again that my mind is spinning. Of course, to please our carnivore tastebuds we may throw some sausages on the grill too. Oh, and we'll need some sweets too.....so bake away. Actually, I hope you know----bring anything you want and if you don't bring anything, that's fine too---we always have plenty!!!
I'm thinking maybe my sesame noodles with some greens in them, maybe a French carrot salad.....maybe just a big old green salad....maybe some sugar snap peas with lentils.....hmmmmm....I love to have something to obsess over!
In more good news about next Friday, Wild Ponies is bringing Paul Griffith as their drummer. Paul plays with everyfuckingbody that we like it seems and last year when Ernie came home from Nashville he said to me, "I have a new favorite drummer, I have a new favorite drummer" so you KNOW he's happy! Tommy Womack writes about him in this piece from the Oxford American.
I am off to obsess over salads. I've got a bit of a cold or allergy or something and am going to lay low this weekend...but I can't wait for next Friday!
Here's a clip of Paul Griffith playing with Todd Snider.....
