Back In the Saddle: School, Carle, and Morning Glories
BOOM! Back in the saddle of school for the boys and a busy semester starting at work, and I gotta tell you I'm just not ready. Usually by the time school for the boys rolls around I'm anxious to get back into a schedule, into a new routine. Not this year. I don't know if it's because we didn't do our big Maine vacation this year, or because it was such an unusually cool summer, but either way....I just don't feel like it should be over yet, and am feeling a bit resistant. Perhaps the temperatures in the 90's we're finally having will convince me. Of course we get them just as Leo starts freshman year at an un-air conditioned school. Would it help if he didn't wear his beloved long-sleeved Pendulum sweat shirt? Why yes it would! Eh, what can you do.
Speaking of the boys and school, the first day reportedly went pretty well. Owen got compliments on his bow tie and asked his teachers to call him Arno. No, I do not know why. He has also requested that we call him Arno. He says I can say I love you as often as I want (he currently complains about this) if I call him Arno. I am trying because I like telling him how much I love him. Leo liked his teachers and was pretty positive. Someone grabbed at his hair once. He turned around and a kid said, "I didn't do it." Leo looked at the group and said, "I don't care WHO did it. Just don't do it again." God I adore that boy. When I got home from work he sat outside and talked with us for an hour and half. It doesn't get much better than that.
In other news...I got a letter from Carle regarding the links to my blog that I sent, and they asked if they had permission to share them with the Cancer Center and I.T. staff. I will of course give them that permission and I feel better that they at least responded to me. It is appreciated. Thank you Carle.
Gotta run off to a busy morning. Even though I may be unhappy with summer ending....at least my beautiful Heavenly Blue morning glories are blooming. There are few flowers I adore as much as these....
Oh, and one last thing.....I love the pictures I take when I'm following behind the three of them. Ignore our neighbor's trash and the messy alleyway....and just look....well, just look at all that HAIR! My beautiful sweet peas.
