Kevin Gordon to Save Us from Winter Doldrums!

I got home last night and chatted to Leo for a minute. Owen came pounding down the stairs and asked what was for dinner. I started to speak and before I could even finish, he sighed and said, "Oh, can I just have ramen?" I said, "NO, you can't have ramen" and just because I was trying to show him how to handle irritation like a mature adult I threw the things I was holding on the couch and said, "Oh just forget it, forget it, I don't know why I even try to cook for you."

Yeah. You know.... I can't seem to make anything that either boys likes. Leo, I'm used to. Owen? This is newer and I shouldn't let a 13 year old hurt my feelings. Geesh. Easier said than done on some days. He's a sweet pea and did love the dinner after all that and was sweet and apologized. I did too. Sigh. If I can't have snow then I need my garden...having neither isn't good for me.

Eh, I hate these mid winter doldrums. Thank God Kevin Gordon will be here on Friday. He will warm our spirits up! Time to pay up folks! I can't WAIT! Oh, and it's PEGGY'S BIRTHDAY!

 And in the meantime....what turned my mood around last night was watching this Jason and the Scorchers show from 1985. Owen came into the kitchen where I was watching it, leaned it to look at it and said, "WHOA...he's YOUNG. I never knew he was in a band like that!" Personally I think Jason looks exactly the same...but perhaps the eyes of a 13 year old are harsher. Either way...it made us both happy.
