Eric and Peter: Never!

Never, NEVER, have I heard Eric Brace and Peter Cooper sound more beautiful than they did last night. Maybe it's because we hadn't seen them in awhile, maybe it was because they didn't use the PA and it was just pure voice ringing out in our room....whatever the reason it was extraordinary. And even more, it was a joyous evening....from Heather's moon cake to meeting new folks and getting to know others better....tons of good food and plenty of wine....it was just joyous. They seemed happy to be playing and the crowd was happy....even Annie the cat was happy some of the time!

When Ernie introduced the guys he also announced that David Olney will be playing at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Urbana on Palm Sunday (playing his album The Stone, his retelling of the Easter story---it's going to be incredible and more details to follow--but for now, put the afternoon of Sunday, March 29 on your calendar). This set off periodic David Olney anecdotes, and masterful impressions, for the rest of the evening. Good God I was so happy....the sides of my face started hurting from laughing and smiling so hard. Oh, and Peter Cooper even mentioned this blog. It makes me feel like a giddy school girl when he says that, which I tried to tell him but stumbled over my words and said I felt like a giddy school year....but maybe that works too.

It was just a gorgeous, gorgeous evening. As I've said before, Eric and Peter's voices alone are beautiful but together they create a third voice that is even beyond that.

Thanks to all the came, for the first time or for the umpteenth time. Thanks for the food and the drinks and the company. 

And most of all, thank you Eric and Peter. We love you with all our hearts.
