Exactly What is Coming Out of my Brain
I woke up grumpy this morning for no good reason. Maybe just the grey skies and my damn knee hurting like hell. I also can't remember the funny things Owen said during dinner that I told myself to remember. Damn it. AND Owen says we don't have time to scan more of his taco drawings this morning before school. He says he calls them Tacomics. He's doing a series of Element Tacos.....Fire Taco, Ice Taco (ice is easier to draw than water evidently), etc. OH, and I DID see the drawing of the female taco. Something for you all to look forward to.
Tonight is pancake night, and then maybe I'll start some of the seeds I bought eons ago, with the seed starter trays and seed starting soil that have been sitting in my dining room for a good month. Oh, and fittingly, last night was taco night. The conversation was interesting. Evidently Leo's history teacher announced in class that he doesn't believe in the holocaust. I quizzed Leo for about an hour on this before finally saying....maybe it was an April Fool's joke. Leo said the rumor had been going around for awhile and that's why another kid finally asked him. I sent him to school with the assignment to find out whether he indeed believed that or, with the benefit of the doubt, that it perhaps was a tasteless April Fool's joke. If they have a HISTORY teacher that doesn't believe in the holocaust (like you can believe or not believe in history) I may just burst. Burst.
I will keep you updated....on tacos and the holocaust.
Lord but life is interesting...even in it's dullest moments.
Oh, and last but definitely not least, HUGE, HUGE shout out to my beloved Mel Farrell who is undergoing neurosurgery this morning. We stopped by to see her yesterday afternoon and she looked and sounded great. I'm glad her family is there with her. Mel has one of those shining spirits and so has many, many people thinking, sending love, and praying for her, but please add your thoughts and prayers to the group.
Sorry for the incoherent, wandering post. That is exactly what is coming out of my brain. Exactly.
Not sure if the cherry trees will bloom at Japan House this year, but the tree peonies are starting already...
