Sex Pistols In My Head
I was grumpy yesterday. I wasn't grumpy with my family, or with my colleagues at work...I was just grumpy with the world. I can tell I'm grumpy when I start swearing more and Sex Pistols songs run through my head. When I'm really stressed I tend to play Jason and the Scorchers really loud, when I'm merely hostile I just hear Sex Pistols in my head.
Ernie picked me up from work. He called from the parking lot to say he was here and I finished writing the email I was in the midst of, thought about reading it over before I hit send but hit send anyway. I was so ready to shake off the day. I got in the car and Ernie said, "Are you still grumpy?" I shrugged and he said, "Well, I thought this would make you feel better."
And oh but it did.
My beloved Jimmy Marinos.
Motor City Rockers...one of the best shows I've ever seen...at Biddy Mulligans in early 90's. Sigh.
We met Teri and Brian for a drink and chatted and then meandered home, stopping to watch the Pygmalion schedule start to go up on the wall along Market Street. We went home and chatted to the boys. I made a weird dinner that I ended up not even eating, watched the DVR'd Mad Men and some of the special on Letterman. I went upstairs to read a bit of a novel I am reading (No Ordinary Grace---thanks for the recommendation Mary Giles) and when I got too sleepy I listened to Tim Carroll and slowly drifted off. Thanks to my husband and all for turning my day around.
No Sex Pistols in my head today.
