Can't Wait to Celebrate Mel: Malcolm Holcombe and Bill Jackson with Pete Fidler

We have a particularly great house concert coming up on Saturday, September 26, 2015. I'd like to make the whole thing a toast to Mel. It doesn't matter if you knew her or not, just come, enjoy some music that is both fine, fine, fine and incredibly powerful, and drink a toast to her with us. She will definitely be with us in spirit, and she will be loving the music....

I'd seen Malcolm Holcombe before, but I must say that he still astounded me when he played at our house a few years back. Someone, I can't recall exactly, was it Kenny..or Kent?....said he just hi-jacked the room. And he did. He really did. Malcolm is hard to describe because you know, the really great ones are impossible to describe. He's the real deal as they say. He feels like a force of nature....just sweeps you away. He's got beautiful blue eyes too, and last time he played he brought me homemade hot sauce.

I can't wait. This is gonna be good.

O.k...so all that is more than plenty good enough, huh? We've got an extra treat for you though. When we heard Bill Jackson, with dobro player Pete Fidler to boot, was visiting the US from Australia, we had hoped to schedule a show. The timing just didn't work out until the brilliant Mary Sack figured out that they could do an opening set for Malcolm. This is incredible folks.....truly! Thanks to Mary, and to Malcolm, for making this happen. Your donation will still go to Malcolm and we are paying Bill and Pete a pittance so we will gratefully accept tips for them as well.

How good is Bill Jackson? Well, David Olney covered one of his songs on his last album. O.K? He reminds me of my beloved Kieran Kane somewhat....and there is some that same urgency and incredible calibre of musicianship that Kane Welch Kaplin had. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!

This will be a night of music worthy to dedicate to Mel!
