Music and Moons and Feeling Hungry....

It was kind of a crazy busy weekend. Friday was calm enough but Saturday we were getting ready for the house concert....then the house concert, which was great, albeit not a great crowd. I knew we were going up against Pygmalion but I figure we're a different crowd, but then there ended up being a million things going on. I've got to remember not to book shows in September. And then again, we don't seem to have as good a crowd on Saturday shows.....this despite so many people telling me that Saturdays are better for them. I just don't know. Feel free to voice your opinion on the Friday/Saturday question.

Regardless, I LOVED Bill Jackson and Pete Fidler. Incredible music and playing, wonderful storytelling, and delightful guys personally as well. They, as well as Ross Jackson, kind of felt like immediate friends. Malcolm, of course, was Malcolm, and wonderful as always.

The next morning I got up, had a couple of hours free and then had to start working. We ended the day with a big event at work with fabulous food, of which I got one sole little takoyaki. Oh well...it was great and I did get some sake so I can't complain. It was a truly wonderful night....and then the sky cleared so we could see the eclipse. I called the boys at one point to tell them to go look at the moon and was told they were already heading outside. That made me happy....I love those boys.

We got home tired and hungry but still wound up. Despite all the fabulous food (from Shin Matsuda at Ani Restaurant in Chicago) I ended up eating scrambled eggs and a piece of toast for dinner. I must say however, that is was the BEST damn scrambled eggs and toast I've ever had. Just eggs, a little salt, and a piece of bread. Nobody makes scrambled eggs like Ernie. When Judi was living with us, at the end of her life, she often ate scrambled eggs. After awhile she would ask me for some, and then say, "Oh, and if  you don't mind....could you have Ernie make them?" Geesh. But really, she was right....

Enough rambling.....many thanks to those that came on Saturday, and most of all to Bill Jackson, Pete Fidler, Ross Jackson, and Malcolm Holcombe.

Oh, and the food I missed out on last night....
