Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

The boys have the day off from school for Yom Kippur. They are delighted, hopefully Owen will mow the grass, and to my Jewish friends I say,"G'mar Hatimah Tovah."

I had all sorts of plans for things to do yesterday evening but I ended up sitting down on the couch to chat with Ernie and Owen for a bit and next thing I know it was getting dark, I was sitting in the dark listening to music, and they were running errands. Sometimes it feels good to be consciously still. I mean, I'm still far too often for my own good, but sometimes when you are aware of it and there's cool September air coming in the windows, and good music playing and you are sitting still....it feels good. My little pink unicorn from Mary Sack accompanied me, and an old letter from my father sits there just so I can see his writing. A bracelet that reminds me of both a friend and a sister, and an acorn, because I love acorns.

As I was sitting there I also, yet again, changed my mind about 50 times about what I am going to make for the house concert this weekend. I think I'm back to ratatouille and grilled sausages.

Please do invite your friends to this show folks. Not only do I want a good crowd for these guys, but truly....this is really a very special opportunity. Malcolm is, as they say, the REAL DEAL. He is like no one else. And Bill Jackson and Pete Fidler are going to be incredible....they sometimes remind me of Kane Welch Kaplin, which is one of my highest compliments....

Ernie mopped and polished the wood floors (yes, I love him) yesterday so he had the chairs sitting on the table. The cats LOVE it...they think they have new thrones.

I think, when it comes right down to it, that September is my favorite month. October is right up there...but there's something about September....

Well, that was a scattered little post...but then again my mind is a bit scrambled today and I don't have time to rearrange it. Holding on for Saturday!
