1. Ernie caught Annie with her tongue hanging out again. Good lord I don't know why this delights me so much. I guess because Annie is such a tense little thing, and this seems so undignified.

2. Took a drive Friday afternoon and ended up in Rantoul. Anybody want a paint store?

3. There has been sweet making going on at work of late...testing recipes, etc. It is our hardship to do tastings....

4. Another Blue Apron meal last night, and despite the not so great picture, it was an outrageously good meal. Have I cooked pork loin, smashed potatoes and salad before? Yes. Was it this good? No. Some of it is in the quality of ingredients (beautiful thus far) and some is in the details. Sure, I've done smashed potatoes but did I ever bother to chop chives to sprinkle on top? Nope. Do I have chives in my yard a good part of the year? Yep. Have I used gold potatoes this tiny and delicate? Nope. And do I ever have a demi-glace to make the sauce? Uh, no. And the arugula, walnut, goat cheese and apple salad was far better than my ho-hum salads. Things to think about....details, details, details....
