Dentists, Boys, Cats, Music, Food....and Jason
My week in review:
Monday...several hours at the dentist. I fear I've become slightly phobic about all this but I gotta say.....my dentist and his staff are extraordinarily kind. Anyone who has anxiety about going to the dentist? If you're in CU I recommend Dr. Scott Anderson's practice. Incredibly kind and no one makes you feel lesser for any reason. I still don't particularly enjoy it but they make it bearable. They couldn't get me numbed up enough so kept shooting stuff into me. The numbness didn't wear off until late evening but I did figure out a way to hook the one small area of my top lip that wasn't numb over the edge of a wine glass. Perseverance I tell you, perseverance.
I was incredibly sad to hear of Merle Haggard's death yesterday. Ernie was too, in fact he was cranky as hell last night which isn't like him. Owen and I finally decided that he was sad so we encouraged...well nagged, him enough to get him up and out the door with Owen to go see Kurt Vile at The Accord (they're doing such a great job booking there). Ernie asked Leo if he wanted to go but he just smiled and said no, thank you. My sweet peas had a good time and came home tired but cheerful. Music always helps. Leo and I were quite happy at home...he computered and I curled up with the laptop and binged Outlander.
Yet another bad experience with Hello Fresh. I am so disappointed. We got our second delivery on Saturday. They sent the wrong recipes but the produce looked good this time and I found the recipes online. We had a shrimp panzanella on Monday which was delicious, a ramen on Tuesday which was pretty good. Last night we went to make the last dish and found the green beans, although refrigerated immediately after delivery, to have gone by, with brown splotches all over them, and when we opened the chicken it smelled bad. Into the trash it went. The potatoes for the mashed potatoes were still good. Thanks a lot.
I wrote to Hello Fresh and told them about the problems with the first delivery and the problems with the second, bad green beans, very bad chicken. They refunded me a whopping $43. No apologies, no nothing. Of course I had already deactivated my account so I guess they didn't figure it was worth bothering me but somehow still disappointing. Not the warmest of customer service. Eh.
Busy weekend coming up at work and then....NEXT weekend is JASON RINGENBERG! Oh my lord. There's a LOT going on that weekend so I hope and pray we will get a good crowd for Jason. Kid alert too.....Jason also performs as Farmer Jason and will surely do a few of those songs, particularly if kids are there...so don't forget kids are free!
One of my all time favorite Mark Gerking posters too. We are thinking of making dinner Curry Fest.....what do you think?
And last but not least....I've been trying to pet Annie as much as possible....trying to get her so she leaves her tongue hanging out. Finally last night.....just a little bit.... God, I love that cantankerous little thing....
Well this has been a rambling, discombobulated post but there you go...it's been a bit of a rambling, discombobulated week!
