Getting There, Getting There

Last night Ernie picked me up from work. We ran an errand and then headed home to start getting ready for the weekend. Ernie grilled chicken for tonight's dinner, I blanched asparagus and sugar snap peas for a salad, roasted mushrooms for a house concert dish, made a couple of batches of shortbread for dinner tonight, and poached some chicken that was in the refrigerator that needed to be cooked. It doesn't really sound like that much when I write it out, but it felt like a lot at the time. I also listened to Owen's despair over his recent Walkman purchase and talked about school projects, listened to Leo's adventures in ear buds and chatted with the cats. Then we ate pizza because who the hell wants to cook for themselves after cooking for others.

I've got a busy day today, then dinner with Julie, Sergio and Chris tonight, then tomorrow's house concert, then I work Saturday afternoon at a children's event at work, then I'm off Sunday, then I work late on Monday, work all week and then work next Saturday and Sunday. Ugh. What does that mean? That I am going have a HELL of a good time on Friday night because I will need to make it last! And can I just say SERGIO? I get to see Sergio tonight!! This will give us time to reassess the Fats Kaplin-Sergio Webb Sandwich Life competition....ahhhh....

Oh, and by the way....for the potluck we are just doing some grilled brats and cherry honey sausages. I'll also have a carrot salad and a pasta/mushroom/chive salad. Ernie has put the call out for potato salad. He does love his potato salad and I hardly ever make it for him..... Poor man. Yell if you have any questions!
