2. Bob Woodruff's new album is absolutely spectacular. Why yes, I DO feel strongly about it. You should go buy it.

3. On Saturday I told Ernie I wanted to sleep as late as possible as I hadn't slept well the previous few nights. So what does he do? He comes in and tell me that he's going to go to the Farmer's Market. Of course I couldn't go back to sleep. Ernie's always had had this thing in which he thinks that deep down inside I WANT to be awake. This is obviously coming from someone who does not truly enjoy sleep the way I do. So after I lovingly bitched at him he swore up and down he would let me sleep the next morning. So Sunday morning I get up, of course at the same time he woke me up the day before...and he tells me this whole saga of seeing some kid checking cars down the street earlier and then walking down our alley. Ernie went over to our dining room window and saw the kid quietly closing the car door of the neighbors behind us and going on to check other cars. So he called 911, the cops came out, saw the kid but lost him, came and knocked and came in so Ernie could talk to them. So for THIS...he doesn't wake me!!! He wakes me up to tell me he's going to the Farmers' Market but not that the police are coming by because he just called 911. Geez. I said, "YOU DIDN'T WAKE ME UP?" and he said, "but....you wanted to sleep." I suppose this goes into the can't win for losing category (see Mother's Day).

4. A good dinner last night, albeit late. I was tired when I got home after a busy day and an afterwork meeting. We had shrimp that I hadn't used on Sunday as planned so I figured we should use it. I sat and was grumpy for a bit, had a glass of wine, and started to relax. I asked Ernie to peel the shrimp and thinly slice a few inches of Spanish chorizo. I put the chorizo in a cold cast iron skillet with some olive oil and slowly warmed it up. After the chorizo rendered some and it began smelling spicy I tossed in the shrimp and salt and pepper and sauteed that until it was done. At the last minute I knew I had to find something green so rooted around and found celery leaves that Ernie had gotten at the Farmers' Market (yes, the one he woke me up to tell me about) so I chopped that up and added it. We served it with some leftover pasta from the house concert (gemelli tossed with pureed green onion and roasted mushroom). All in all, for a late off the cuff dinner it was pretty great. And there you have it for the excitement in my life at the moment.
