Blood Drive Today in Honor of Matthew and Mel Farrell

Hey all....just a quick reminder.....here's the info from Community Blood Services:

In light of recent events, both in Orlando and right here in our own community, I know that many people are feeling helpless, not knowing what to do to get through the tragedy while hoping to make a positive difference at the same time.

What you may not know is that blood donations, right here in our own community, are down by nearly 20% right now. God forbid, we would see such a need for blood due as they did in Orlando….But we do want to have a safe, adequate supply of blood here for every other reason that we see on a daily basis: a C-section birth; a car accident; emergency surgery; blood transfusion for someone fighting cancer and the list goes on and on.

Please take this opportunity to make a positive change in our community by donating blood this Friday, June 17 from 11 am-3pm in the south parking lot of Lincoln Square in Urbana. Your donation will honor those who cannot give and make a lifesaving/life-extending gift to someone in genuine need.

You are not helpless and can really make a positive difference in our community, our country, our world and this is just one simple way you can help. Even if you can’t donate yourself, recruit someone who can. Walk-ins welcome.
