Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1. Must summer insist on going faster and faster EVERY year?

2. The boys survived their first few days of school. Leo seemed relatively cheerful about it all. Owen found each day to reportedly be as long as a week and was somewhat in despair. He said he's sorry he joined drama. I said, "Well, you didn't really join it honey, it's a class...." He sighed and said, "Yeah, I'm sorry I joined."

3. Does it seem odd that you can't buy a bottle of water at lunch in high school?

4. Leo's happy he has open lunch since he's a junior. He's hoping he can make it over to Fries and Peanuts for fries sometimes.

5, Our house is a mess.

6. Our yard is as big a disaster as it every has been. 

7. The windows are OPEN! I am so grateful that I have a/c but I am so tired of being closed off. It felt heavenly to sleep with the windows open last night. 

8. The next week is going to be chaotic. I can't wait for Matsuri to be over. Crossed fingers that it goes well...and any prayers, wishes, etc. for good weather would be much appreciated.

9. In house concert news I am sad to say that we've had to postpone the Eric Brace/Peter Cooper show in October. Peter is reportedly becoming a bigwig and can't make it. Since I unabashedly adore Peter, if it's good for him, it's fine with me. We will reschedule, I promise.

10. The good news is that hopefully we will have Amy Rigby the last weekend in October. Fingers crossed because it has been WAY too long. Amy is freaking brilliant and I love her dearly.

11. And with that I am off to a work meeting and some stacks of emails to send. Come ON September!
