Ahhhh....the long weekend draws to a close. Damn it. That means New Year's is the day after tomorrow, at least that's how it feels. No sadness, I just shake my head at how fast time goes. And every year I understand more and more why we have holidays with food and lights to get us through this season as the days get shorter. It's been a lovely little break though, I must say. Our lovely Thanksgiving, followed by a day of Gilmore Girls watching (YES!). Last night we gathered with some other friends at Teri's and Brian's house and nibbled and drank and talked. It was utterly delightful. Here, Claire Cannon sings a few new songs....sounded lovely.... Hope to stop by and see her at the Iron Post tomorrow evening (early show....YES).

This morning I came downstairs to find it very cold and our furnace out. Sigh. Ernie called and they said they would send someone out. The phone rang and I picked it up, thinking that it was the furnace people. Instead it was the alarm company from work...the alarm had gone off and the police called. So I threw clothes on and drove through the fog only to find it was all a mistake and things were fine. What a relief, and at least the car heater warmed us up.

The repair folks have been out and a corroded switch has been clean off or something like that and the house is slowly warming up although Annie seems to feel that my lap will be necessary until she's completely warmed up....which might be March come to think of it. Poor little old curmudgeon with her tattered ear. She's the grumpiest thing but I do love her!

Now Ernie and I have seem to lost our energy for our plans for the day...supposed to going out to buy exciting things like weatherstripping for our front door. Eh, instead we sit, trying to warm up, just like Annie....not bad for a Sunday before trudging back to work, huh? We shall see what the day brings.

Bob? Well he's just busy trying to look regal.

Oh, and last but not least.... I was so overwhelmed by how great Boo's pies were that I had to stop midway and document them. A delightful breakfast....
