Random Notes From the Sandwich Life
1. Absolutely wonderful show with our beloved Bob Woodruff. He's an incredible songwriter and we loved having him here. Go BUY THIS MAN'S ALBUM. Oh, and look how cute my baby looks!
2. I am doing another cookbook purge because I need shelf space for some of my pots. These will be free to a good home, first come, first served, at Friday's Pirate Thanksgiving show with Tom Mason.
And, after that purge, I finally have a spot for my pots, other than the top of the stove....
3. My beloved nasturtiums have been so boldly happy in our fall weather. They mounded higher and higher. Every night when I come home from work I say, "Hey guys, you look SO good!" and wave at them. Ernie shakes his head and says, "You know, you're talking to flowers" but he's wrong, it was just the nasturtiums. You know the phrase 'happy as a clam?' Although I must say I always augment that with 'at high tide' because if I were a clam I'd be damned anxious at low tide, but anyway....I now add to the lexicon, 'happy as a nasturtium in the fall....before a frost.' I almost wept when I saw them yesterday.
4. Updated the wall.....added Bob Woodruff, Amy Rigby, and Walter Salas-Humara. And yes, I know that half of them are crooked...the frames, not the people mind you....
5. I went to buy a turkey for Friday night. They had beautiful Triple S turkeys at Harvest Market, but I just couldn't swing it so got a basic frozen one. They had either 12 to 14 lb turkeys...or one lone 24 lb turkey. I assume you know which one we bought....
That's a lot of turkey folks....so I hope you are planning on coming. I will have turkey, gravy and mashed potatoes. You guys bring everything else! Here's our beloved Tom Mason....who sent this to us on our 25th anniversary....still makes me cry....
