Friends. Music.
Man, we've got great friends....from folks calling to offer to help with setting up for the house concert to friends in Nashville reassuring me after receiving my frantic texts that YES, the Dead Reckoners/Savannah Welch show WAS going to be streamed.
Thank you to all.
I forget how exhausting stress about medical issues can be. Add that to normal work stress and holiday and money and all around life stress that we all have in one way or another and I just was wiped out. When I thought the streaming wasn't going to happen for the show last night I burst into tears and my 14 year old had to come comfort me. I know you're thinking, "Get a grip Cynthia" and believe me I was thinking the same damn thing.
As always though, the music did me good. God they sounded amazing. Go watch it! All the Dead Reckoners....Kieran Kane, Kevin Welch, Harry Stinson, Mike Henderson, Tammy Rogers, Glen Worf, Fats Kaplin....did I get them all? Savannah and Dustin Welch...add a bit of Emmylou and lots of other voices and musicians...and whole lot of emotion and love. That came through loud and clear. Yet again, I think my belief in not just the power of music, but also of the power of music COMMUNITIES is spot on.
That actually wasn't a lead-in to talking about Mabel's Night Unplugged on Friday but it sure works. Hope you can make it...it will a good, warm night.
