Onward. Begrudgingly Onward.
A bit of a loss of a weekend. I worked most of Saturday and kind of collapsed that night. I'd made plans to have a couple of folks over for Easter but I woke up Sunday feeling so crappy and down that I just couldn't pull it together. I felt bad cancelling but as the day went on I was still glad I did. I kept picking at it like a scab to see if I still felt guilty and while I did, I still didn't feel up to it. I curled up and read another Kate Christensen novel, (an author I've fallen in love with of late), sat in the yard a bit, thought about the garden and by evening managed to finally pull off a simple dinner for the four of us. Roast leg of lamb which was lovely, mashed potatoes, carrots and red peppers and lima bean puree. I said to Ernie the day before, "Is there something wrong with me that lima bean puree sounds good?" He laughed at me and didn't answer. It WAS good, with garlic and rosemary, but the beans sat in my stomach and seemed to argue with me when I went to bed. Age is freaking weird.
Now I gear up for a busy week, lots of appointments, couple of evening work things and work all day Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I must admit a lack of enthusiasm.
Enough whining.

How you can tell spring has come at my house....when the lights that we put on the fence at Thanksgiving and keep on 24 hours a day finally start giving out.
It wasn't all bad...Saturday in downtown...
Onward.
