Onward

A nice quiet evening last night. I was tiredish from a busy day at work. Ernie and I watched the news and shook our heads at the world and then he and Owen took off for the Tom Petty show. It was a Christmas present for Owen last year. I would have liked to go but the two tickets set us back enough that I didn't want to do a third and as it turns out, I have Ian Hunter coming up. I feel like I've been watching Tom Petty tour via Facebook. First he played in Nashville and I saw tons of pictures on Facebook. Then he played in Austin and I saw pictures again. Then he popped up in my feed last night. Where shall I see him next?

Leo and I both foraged for our dinners and talked a bit. The sky started looking really threatening so I called him back downstairs and said we should go outside. We sat in the grey stillness and chatted while we watched the clouds roll in and the lightning start. I planted some plants quickly before the rain started and then we retired to the porch when it began to rain. A nice time with my guy.

Today I'm taking off work because I have tests for much of the morning and then we see Ernie's oncologist in the afternoon. And yes, you do know you're old when you take the whole day off for doctor's appointments.  Ha. Oh well. I don't really expect anything to come of the tests today but we shall see of course. I'm fasting while also drinking a lot of water so I show up with an empty stomach and a full bladder. Delightful. My sweet husband did offer to fast with me so he gets points for that but I made him eat breakfast anyway. I am feeling somewhat better on the wretched low Fodmap diet but still not wonderful. I've got another test towards the end of the month and that should answer at least a question or two. You poor people, why are you reading this? Sorry to be so dull.

Onward.

I mean there's no other choice, right?

Onward it is.
