Father's Day Morn
Father's Day breakfast. The teens still sleep so Ernie and I fed ourselves. Ernie's scrambled eggs with smoked sturgeon from Calumet Fisheries, and a bit of fresh herbs. On Amoy flow blue plates, c. 1844, just because it tastes better that way. We took our plates and split up companionably, he's watching news, and I'm reading a novel. Thank you Heather for the recommendation. Susanna Kearsley is just right.
We have a few things planned for the day and a dinner per Ernie's request. Can you guess what it is? Why yes, it IS fried chicken. I'm doing my oven fried curried chicken and hope it will be perfect for him. Because it's a holiday I'm giving everyone their favorite side: Leo, french fries, Owen, corn on the cob, and Ernie, classic potato salad. Sometimes you just have to cater and fuss. Not sure what the vegetables will be. We've got a bunch of different greens, some zucchini, some peppers. We shall see.
