August 2022 Wander: Day Two

First diner breakfast of the wander. I'm wondering if it used to be a Maid-Rite seeing the counter and stools. Breakfast was ok but my over easy eggs were over hard. No runny yolk makes my sausage and hash browns unbearably sad.

We love towns that have four ways stop signs in the middle of the intersection. This one hs the added bonus of a planter surrounding the signs!

I really need to go back and get photos. I mean, it's the FLAMINGO MOTEL! Beautiful neon lettering. The uhhh, vivid pink might not be my style but hey, that's ok.

Uncovered ghost signs make me very happy.

We were starting to wear down. We were staying in Keokuk. In hindsight we should have gone to the place we were at once before because their food was great. However, this photo does not begin to adequately capture how freaking huge that glass of wine was. I had two and I swear it was about a whole bottle. So you know, pros and cons....
