The goofiness factor
Sometimes I think dealing with all this cancer shit will be the death of us....from frustration and irritation, not cancer. We saw Vasireddy on Thursday so of course Ernie had bloodwork done. On Friday I get a message from Barnes saying, "Although your labs from yesterday looked good, I had asked them to not have you do your Pluvicto labs before 7/5. They are unfortunately going to have to be done again after that date. Pluvicto labs need to be within 3 weeks of dose."
First, these labs weren't for Barnes, they were for Vasireddy. Second, what do you mean his labs look good? You keep saying he can't get treatment if his platelets are under 100 and they were 75 on Thursday.
Ok, so I wrote back and explained that Ernie is indeed scheduled for labs on July 5, the labs he just had done were for Vasireddy at Carle.
They wrote back and said, "Perfect, I'm glad to see everything is back within limits." SEVENTY-FIVE people, his platelets were 75. Sigh. Sometimes I just don't have the energy to take things further. We'll see what his platelets look like on the fifth.
Mind you, this was just mildly irritating. Honestly, when I think about what Ernie was like a year ago and what he is like now, he's almost a different person. As Heather said yesterday, "It's always a delight to see the rosy cheeks and hear the laugh." For me, it's the goofiness. His goofiness is back. 💗

Onward.
