Hey...a GOOD day....

Good day yesterday.  How's THAT for something new?  I took my mom to see her doctor and everything seemed to be good.  I mean her kidneys aren't great but they are holding their own.  Her doctor told her she was a miracle which perked my mom up.  Then I raced back to work, worked like crazy and then took off back to my mom's.  One of her old neighbors from Lisle was visiting with her daughter.  I told Leo that she had known Grandma since before I was born and he just got wide-eyed and said, "daaaaang." Anyway, they hadn't seen each other since my parents moved here eight years ago and it was really wonderful.  We came over to our house and had lunch and sat and talked.

Leo had asked that we cover the Millenium Falcon with a sheet so that he could have an unveiling...or a reveal.....for our guests when he got home from school.  He was quite excited about it...as he said thoughtfully, "I've never done that before...."

He kept us waiting for awhile but finally Leo, Ernie and Owen all lifted the sheet off to gasps and shrieks of amazement.  He was SO proud.  I wish I'd gotten a picture of his smile.  He then explained the whole thing to Mrs. Roake and Corinne.  As I had told them earlier....talking with Leo about Lego is kind of like talking with my father about the Consitution or Habeus Corpus.  They shrieked with laughter----as anyone who knew my father would.  Let's just say my father could talk about those subjects dear to his heart for hours, days, weeks....YEARS....

Here's Corinne photodocumenting the project:

It's so nice to see my mother laugh.....it was a truly wonderful visit....

Later on that evening the boys curled up together on the cough and watched some youtube videos of Star Wars Lego and Indiana Jones.  Of course Leo ALWAYS manages to cover his face for pictures....impeccable timing, that one....

And last, but not least, an October nasturtium....nothing better.....

Unfortunately Ernie woke up this morning feeling sick to his stomach.  So know on top of his bad knee and his infected finger...he feels sick. My poor sweet pea. I just gave him some homemade chicken broth.  We'll see if that helps....

The goal today is to work on emptying the office for Judi's room.  I may spend some time just relazing.  Oops, I meant relaxing but I left that because actually....relazing is a great word!

Oh, and I think the tentative plan for Judi is that I will drive down there on the 29th and bring her back.  Might split the drive into two days coming back so barring any changes, she'll be here by Halloween!  I can't wait.....
