Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  Saturday is Owen's birthday party.  He's hoping Adam Schmitt will come.  Although he sighed deeply and said, "I guess if he doesn't come, I'll still have his music."  My poor baby.  He also has this complicated conceptual idea for his birthday cake that involves Indiana Jones, grass, water, branches, popsicle sticks and possibly Nazis and Russians....

2.  Judi went in for another paracentesis this morning---this time with a radiologist.  MUCH MORE SUCCESSFUL!!  They got another 2 1/2 litres of what looked like white grape jelly out of her abdomen----woo-hoooooo!!!!! (I know, yeuch) The doctor was wonderful and now I REALLY have my fingers crossed that she will feel better.

3. I've kind of been a failure at facebook and had been thinking about deleting myself---so to speak....but now between the Vertebrats page and reconnecting with Carla from Bohemia.....well, hell, I've been sucked right back in....

4.  Ernie took the  trees down...now we just have huge piles of ornaments on our sideboard....and I know they have to be packed up but they look really wonderful in a pile....

5.  I gotta say....having my 7 year old walking around the house singing David Olney songs makes me pretty damn happy....  This clip of David Olney is long but SO worth watching....

6. Kane Welch Kaplin are playing in southern Illinois at the end of January.  It's an afternoon show so we're thinking of taking the guys.  Let's hope everyone stays healthy and weather cooperates, etc.  It would do us good....
