R.I.P. Wally

Judi's dog Wally died.

He'd gone to live with dear friends of Judi's whom he loved.  Selfishly I'm glad he was there as I don't know how I would have handled it.....and I know he was lucky to have been with them.  I just can't believe it though.

It just breaks my heart.

And I just don't think I can bear one more thing.

I should go to bed because I have to get up and help Owen finish his valentines in the morning but I can't sleep.  Thank God our friend Beth mentioned getting valentines for her guys....otherwise I never would have remembered.  Things seem to finally really be hitting the boys....they had friends over the other day and acted incredibly foul. Still....even my sweet curmudgeon Leo got excited over the valentines.  I got Leo Star Wars valentines but couldn't decide what to get for Owen.  Finally I got some Star Wars and some wild animal ones and figured I'd let him choose.  He was quite pleased.....he decided he'd give the animal valentine's to the girls 'because they like nature.'  Always thinking that one....

The funeral home called this morning and said Judi was ready to be picked up.  Well, o.k., they didn't say it quite like that but pick her up we did.  Ashes are surprisingly heavy.  I was o.k. except when they gave me her buddha necklace that she always wore.  That shook me.  I'm glad I thought to ask for it though as I thought I might save it and give it to Owen some day.  My sweet spiritual son.

The week has been speeding by while in slow-motion at the same time.  I'm working on pulling together some old pictures of Judi to have at the service.

I want to write more because it feels good when I do....but the words just aren't coming.
