Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  Ernie and Owen and I watched The Chopping Block together the other night.  Owen is working on an imitation of Marco Pierre White, complete with pointed finger and British accent.  He may actually have his father beat.  Let's all chant together:  Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco! Marco!

2.  Owen woke up that night with a terrible fever and headache.  Sad little guy.  Twisting and turning in between Ernie and me, keeping us both awake until Ernie finally gave up and got up at 5:00.  Then I fell asleep heavily and had horrible dreams with snakes and high PSA's.  I woke up and I couldn't figure out what was real and what wasn't....

3. Of course we were supposed to go for dinner with our friends tonight Ann and Bob and their daughter Sophie.  It seems as though every single time we try to get together one of our kids gets sick.  We're aiming for next Tuesday.....Ann said if someone gets sick then we're giving up and calling the friendship off....

4. We went to parent/teacher conferences last night.  Both boys are doing wonderfully and in some ways their teacher described totally different people than we see at home.  Amazing.  Some of it was comforting to hear actually----relieved some of my worries about Leo in particular.

5.  I managed to get my mother a doctor's appointment today so we will go see her doctor and see what we can do for her in terms of physical pain and sadness.  And after that----the weekend begins!  A weekend with absolutely no plans. How the hell did THAT happen?

6.  I'm so glad it's SPRING and asparagus season will be coming....
