Random Notes on A Lazy Spring Day

1.  I thought I'd do a less foreboding banner for my blog in honor of spring.  I'm not totally content with everything so no doubt I'll keep fooling with it.  I don't really know what I'm doing so it can take awhile....  Let me know what you think.....

2.  It turns out that some of the toileting issues of a certain resident of our household are because the bathroom is very scary.  And reportedly if we keep the shower curtain open and take the doors off the closet it will be less scary.  Sigh.  Personally I find this sight absolutely terrifying but so far so good for the certain resident....

3.  This afternoon Owen asked if we could go down to Huber's.  I thought he meant one of their regular little trips to get candy.  No, it turns out he wanted to take me out for a glass of wine so we could just sit together and talk....because as he said, he's quite the talker.  I tried to convince him otherwise but his heart was set on it.  So off we went.  He carried some money in his jeans pocket and took a picture along the way:

When we got to Huber's the bartender was charming and asked Owen for his ID when he ordered some milk.  We sat at a table and chatted except at one point when he said, "sorry Mom, but I'm watching the baseball game."  One the way out he bought candy for himself and Leo and told the bartender that the dollar tip we left on the bar was for him.  He was QUITE pleased with himself.  We stopped at the park on the way home where he did an impression of Superdawg.  Life is good.

4.  So of course....I'm on a Jason and the Scorchers kick since we saw Jason Ringenberg.  Here's a clip from 1986---we saw them around the same time at Harpo's in Detroit.  Utterly amazing show.  When we saw Jason the other night he saw he and the Scorchers were going into the studio this week and that Warner Hodges is playing better than ever----totally demented stuff.  Mmm-hmmmmmm.....sounds tasty, huh?
