Radiation's Over and Other Happy Notes
1. Yup...I said HAPPY! I know your eyes are probably wide with shock but yeah, things feel pretty good this morning. We met our friends Ann and Bob for a celebratory drink after work last night----dumped all our kids on Ricky, left them money for a pizza and went to Fries and Peanuts. Ann said she sleeps better after evenings with us and I feel the same. It was raining outside and we had my favorite corner booth....our friend Tom waited on us....it was all plenty to make me happy.
2. Music Fog, an 'americana' blog that I'm liking a lot has a video of Kevin Welch singing Marysville at SXSW. He wrote this while the guys (Kane Welch Kaplin) were in Australia at the time of the devastating fires. Marysville was a beautiful small town full of art galleries, cafes and homes that was almost totally destroyed in the fires. Almost ten percent of the populations was killed....it's hard to imagine.... Kane Welch Kaplin recorded the song and it can purchased for download (a whopping 99 cents guys) with all the money going to the fire victims. So listen....and click here to purchase.
3. I'm driving Judi's Honda these days and one of the things I love about it is that the volume control on the cd player keeps turning even after it's turned all the way up. It makes me really happy to be able to turn it up more even though it's really playing as loud as it can.....I guess it's my way of turning it up to 11....
4. So Owen, Ernie and I are on a huge Long Ryders kick these days. That it turn made me start playing Danny and Dusty....man I love that album....
5. We're hoping to head out to Prairie Fruits Farm for one of their pre-Farmer's Market sale of cheese, produce, etc. Cheese and spinach and kale and maybe even wild ramps? Mmmmmm. Thanks Lisa for the reminder!
6. Sunday is our Easter celebration and no one come up with any suggestions for a grilled boneless leg of lamb. Jason? Lisa? Others?
