Random Notes from a Random Sandwich

1.  This week seems to be a LONG one.  Saw our beloved Dr. Sapiente today for Ernie's last check up with him during this round of radiation.  Ernie has one more treatment tomorrow morning and then he's DONE!  The radiation waiting room lacks magazines but it does have a great book on music.....

The radiation seems to finally be kicking in and Ernie is pretty tired out but the pain he'd had that we thought was merely an aging hip and gee whiz turned out to be cancer....well that's much better.  Now we wait and see how the Zometa and Casodex treat him.  Dr. Graham warned us that next time we see him (in a month) Ernie's PSA (which was up again this week thank you very much) will be down but it will be attributable to the radiation and not the new regimen....so we'll have to wait longer to see if that is helping.

2.  Last night when we went outside to look at the rainbow I was talking to my neighbor when all of a sudden I spied a tiny little blooming primrose under his lilac bush.  Of course my expensive little Japanese primroses I ordered from God knows where have not chosen to bless my garden with their presence this year.  humph.

3. We're celebrating Easter this weekend with family....since next weekend we're heading down Route 66 to St. Louis for the weekend. I'm thinking grilled boneless leg of lamb, asparagus, peas and mint and mmmmm, new potatoes maybe....gotta do some more recipe searching especially for the lamb marinade....  Any lamb or lamb menu suggestions?  Of course Owen has asked if the Easter Bunny will come early or just find him in St. Louis.  I assume the Easter Bunny is smart enough to find him in St. Louis but we'll see.....

4.  And look here....two of my favorite things....Grant Badger (o.k., I know you're not exactly a thing Grant) and Allerton Park....  This makes me so happy!
