It Will Be Awhile Before I'm in the Mood for Pears and Almonds....

I had lunch at one of the more upscale restaurants in town yesterday with two colleagues.  We all had panini, which we enjoyed, and then decided to share a dessert.  I cast the deciding vote for a pear almond tart.  Sounds good, huh? 

Except when it showed up at our table......  One of my friends went to take a bite and the other person said, "WAIT....don't put that in your mouth."  They peered at it, one of them whipping out her reading glasses as we are of a certain age....

Yup.

Mold.

Fluffy white mold with tiny little black specks.....  I REALLY wish I'd taken a picture of them peering at it....

 

We called someone over and she whisked it away as fast as possible.  The waiter came back and told us everything was comped.....so they handled it the right way.....but it will STILL be awhile before I'm in the mood for a tart.....
