Pictures I Didn't Take This Weekend
This weekend was very busy for us and I find that the only picture we took was the snap of the Outnumbered in the last post (as well as one of Ernie and Jon Ginoli but it was so terrible of Ernie that it has been destroyed....really....he looked like a muppet). It's good to sometimes just enjoy things without worrying about photodocumenting them but just the same there are some I really wish I had:
1. Saturday night dinner....o.k. it would be nice to have one of all of us together (Pat, Diane, Doug, Boo, Ann, Bob, Rebecca, Laura, Leo, Owen and Sophie) but really.....what I most wish I had is a photo of dessert: ice cream sandwiches of home made vanilla ice cream between home made chocolate chip cookies. I'm not even the biggest dessert person but good LORD those were amazing....
2. And yes, it would be nice to have a picture from brunch the next day of Sasha, Dick, Kirsten, Jim, us and all our kids.....but what I'd really like is a picture of Owen seriously holding a big bowl of strawberries and serving Azure, Bianca and Isabel at their little table. He stood next to each girl, asking solicitously how many strawberries they wanted and then carefully spooning them onto their plates. Then he trotted back to the big table, put the strawberries down and continued with his own meal.
3. From Sunday night it would be nice to have a picture of Ernie and Kenny and Miles and Rich all looking tall and handsome....or one of me and Rob Arrol! I can't call him my-favorite-person-I've-never-met any longer....
4. From yesterday, pictures of Owen and Ernie attacking each other and making each other laugh til their faces are red.....maybe a picture of Leo and me lying on his bad looking at Lego videos on the laptop and then of course pictures not only of my beloved Sarah and Josh but more importantly pictures of Silas (Owen has informed me we can't call him Baby Silas anymore) and Baby Ira!
5. Best of all perhaps would be a picture of the sea of firetrucks that Owen brought downstairs with which to entertain Silas. After they left Owen solemnly announced that Silas was the charmingest and nicest kid he'd ever met. This morning he was talking about him again....he wishes they lived on Church Street instead of Virginia. Me too, Owen, me too....
So those are my pictures....and here's one I did manage to take in the midst of a lazy afternoon yesterday....
