Brief Random Notes from the Sandwich Life
1. Well I gave in and went to the doctor for my knee. It really hurt like hell last night so I called and got in this morning. They took x-rays and are sending me to somebody in orthopedics next Friday. We'll see....but I'm glad I went.....
2. My mother was born in September. We both love September weather. And something really stuck with me from our dinner with my her last night. If you know me, or read this blog much, you know that she is really struggling right now. But yesterday when I picked her up, this woman who is turning 80, in a wheelchair, in chronic pain, mourning her husband of 56 years and her daughter gone within months of each other......well she smiled at me and said, "I think this is the most beautiful day I've ever seen."
The most beautiful day she's ever seen.
Wow. She's quite something huh?
3. When we were in Chicago last weekend I remembered how much time you spend in traffic. I'm spoiled by my small town 5 minute rush hour! At one point, on our way to Superdawg, we pulled up alongside another car at a light and Night Fever by the BeeGees was blasting from it. We were all quiet until suddenly Owen said from the back seat, "well at least we're not listening to crap like that."
Ernie was so proud.
4. Owen took this picture last night of some of his Lego and I gotta say.....I was QUITE taken with it.....
