A Spectacular Fall and Other Notes.....

1.  I think this has been one of the most stunning fall seasons we have had in years.  I can't say I've particularly enjoyed it all but it has been spectacular.  Even now, with Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, there are still remnants of brilliant color.

2.  Spectacular Fall also happens to be the name of a spectacular song from the spectacular Long Ryders.

3.  I visited my mother last night----no hallucinations, no confusion whatsover.  You got me....I can't figure this stuff out.  It was a good visit although at the end of it she cried because she wanted to go home so bad.  She's dreading going back to the nursing home although she doesn't want to consider any others.

4. When I got home last night Owen was chattering away to me and I asked him if he had a stuffy nose.  He nodded and by the end of the evening seemed to have a full-fledged cold.  How does that happen?  Miracle of miracles however-----when he woke up in the middle of the night he called for Ernie not me.  Woo-hooo!  This morning he was coughing and sniffing and snorting so he's home from school.

5.  Leo is convinced that we don't care for him whatsoever because he says he had the same symptoms that Owen did and he didn't get to stay home.  Sigh...there's no winning.....

Well, I just got off the phone with my mother.  She may be released today and said she was going to go home.  So then I had to say "HOW THE HELL DO YOU THINK THAT'S GOING TO WORK?"  Well, I didn't really yell.  Sigh...talk about no winning.  So eventually she cried and said she'd go to the nursing home.

I feel like shit.
