Back to the Hospital.....
As of late afternoon my mother is back in the hospital.
Renal failure.
What I understand so far is that the dye in the catheterization last week could have precipitated this. Of course given that she's been diabetic for 70 years her kidneys weren't in great shape anyway. Dialysis may kick start things....but then again.....
This was my view as I sat waiting for her x-ray to be done. Oh yeah, she also has fluid in her lungs again.
She is very scared, as am I.
Very, very scared.
She looked at me and said, "I wanted to be around longer." I protested but she kindly shushed me.
Of course I'm supposed to work all weekend. I think I'll go in super early and do some things at work and load up my laptop and head over to the hospital to HOPEFULLY be there when the doctors come in. I guess I'll have to leave later for a reception. I don't know.
I'm so tired but I don't want to give in and go to sleep.
My father always used to say that my mother and I didn't have a dialogue.....we spoke as from the same voice so he said we had the longest running monologue in the history of the world.
Prayers are welcome.
