Just a Few Random Notes from the Sandwich Life
1. Major irritations with my bank in handling some of Judi's estate stuff as well as the Buddhist retreat center that still hasn't sent me a receipt/acknowledgment for the gift I made as part of Judi's will. I MUST get on top of all this crap. Geesh.
2. Apart from that my day is good. I'm having a wonderful time being home alone with my Leo. He is busy planning out the weekend from grocery shopping after school to having a friend sleep over to going out to lunch to renting movies and eating Cheetos (he says I agreed to that although I don't remember). We're quite tickled to be hanging out by ourselves although of course I miss the two blondes.
3. Owen called yesterday and reported in. He called me at work and when I answered he said, "who is this?" and I said, "YOUR MOTHER you goofball." He said, "oh hi Mom, we forgot to call when we got here so I thought I'd call and let you know everything is going well. The walls are already up and now me and Daddy are putting out the chairs. It's a LOT of work. We took pictures of the windmills on the way up because they're up and running now so we stopped and got pictures. Oh, and don't worry I'll take pictures of the KFC too (chortling). Guess what? Daddy and I had to go into a room and it smelled like gas. Not like my gas but gas like a car. Ewwww. Anyway, we're doing good and Daddy says to say he loves you. I love you a lot Mom. Oh, and tell Leo the best thing about this is being away from him, o.k? Bye Mom." Yep....stream of consciousness just like that. All I can say is I hope the KFC lives up to his imaginings.... He made Ernie bring the DVD of A Hard Day's Night so they could watch that in the hotel while they ate their KFC. I hope he gets LOTS of pictures....
4. Music Fog has had a couple of wonderful videos up the last few days. First my beloved David Olney and Sergio Webb....and then my beloved Kevin Welch. They mentioned taping Fats Kaplin and Kristi Rose at Folk Alliance so I'm anxiously awaiting that. Watch these----it IS amazing to watch Sergio play with one hand holding the megaphone. And Andaman Sea makes me look forward to Kevin's new album next month more than ever....
