Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  Last night when I got home from work the boys were justwalking back from the park.  Owenpulled me aside and made me bend down so he could whisper in my ear, “Mom,someone in my class at school has a crush on someone and that person has acrush on them too.”  I said, "Wow, really?" and then he pausedand said, “and one of them is me.” I cannot divulge more in the interest of privacy but I think my heartjust about cracked in two.  Hesmiled and kissed me and trotted off. That boy is going to get his heart broken so many times----and he’ll bebreaking quite a few as well.  Oh my, arewe in for a ride…..

2.  This week is moving S L O W L Y….  Could it be because I have my last furlough day onFriday?  Yesterday I was convincedit was Wednesday…..

3.  The boys only have a half day of school and are gettingtheir hair cut today.  I’mscared.  I kinda like them shaggyeven if some people think Leo’s long hair could signal problems.  Has that person LOOKED at hisparents?  Hmph.  That being said Leo has been wanting toget his hair cut of late after a long time of NOT wanting it cut.  But the guys insist on only Kim cuttingit and schedules don’t always work….and Leo refuses to get his cut on Fridaybecause he just ‘likes to relax’ on Fridays.  Geesh.  Life is complicated.  Don’tworry…pictures will follow….

4.  Dinner last night:  salmon seared in a hot pan then finished in a very hot oven for a couple of minutes, then topped with lemon ginger butter.  I forgot the chives on top but it was damned good.  Served it with mixed couscous and grains with red kale and asparagus.  Nice.
