Best Doughnuts EVER!

Ahhhh.....our beloved Donut Dip.....  Last time I wrote about the Donut Dip I got a lovely comment from the owner (and look how young the boys looked!).  So when we stopped in this year Ernie asked me if I wanted to see if he was there.  I, of course, get too shy so I said "oh no, no, no."  Well Ernie ignored me and spoke to the person there that he guessed was the owner and I'm so glad he did.  He was utterly charming, gave us a free bag of apple cidar doughnut holes and some postcards of their opening day (below).  When I asked if they had any white frosted doughnuts with sprinkles (Owen's current favorite) the woman said she'd go frost some for him.  How wonderful is that?  But it's the doughnuts......oh, the doughnuts.  They taste as good as the ones in my memory that my grandmother made for us every summer.  And let me tell you....that's saying something.

So if you're driving along the Massachusetts turnpike around Springfield, DO take just a minute to stop by the Donut Dip.  You will NOT be sorry!  It's off of exit 4 then you follow the signs for US 5/West Springfield and Riverdale Street.  The Donut Dip will be on your left----it just takes a couple of minutes and then you can hop back on the turnpike!  Personally I'd go with the homecut but the consensus in the van as we drove away was that EVERYTHING they make is fabulous....

This picture isn't that great but the proximity of the word 'dip' directly over Owen's head.....well, I just had to post it.....
