Random Notes and Pictures from the Sandwich Life

1.  My favorite phrases to hear from doctors in the past couple of years have been, "well, given his unusual personality" or "unusual combination" or "he certainly is quite a character, isn't he?"  This week's new phrase that I just well...sighed at...was "given your unique problems." 

2. The other day Ernie told me he felt as though he was the Patrick to my SpongeBob.  Cracked me up so hard I couldn't even reassure him that he's not Patrick.  Generally he sees himself as Squidward anyway....

I am SOOO excited that the Flatlanders are going to be at the Castle Theatre in Bloomington .  I haven't seen Jimmie Dale Gilmore in eons and he is good for my heart.  This clip of the Flatlanders on Austin City Limits made me really happy....and you even get a little bit of the Jimmie Dale rambling....

6.  We're still waiting for the Michael Jackson black sequined jacket to come in the mail.  Ernie was on the phone last night with the place we'd ordered it from----they'd held the order up because the votive candles I'd ordered to pad my order enough to get the free shipping were backordered.  Geesh....should get it tomorrow though.  Cross your fingers all.

7.  And do you know how much black loafers COST?  I thin we found an old pair of Ernie's that Owen can wear if wears some extra socks.  Ernie did point out that this costume was racking up some serious $.  Oh well....yeah.  I know.  But he's my BABY....and he's going to be the cutest little Michael Jackson in the world.  He wore his sequined socks to school yesterday but he said nobody noticed.  What's wrong with these children?
