Blessed Blessed Blessed
I hate to throw the word 'blessed' around too lightly but that's the word that feels right to me at the moment. Having the incredible talent of Fats and Kristi Rose in our home, surrounded by such good friends....wonderful food and drink...kids running throughout.....Saturday was a wonderful night and we really feel blessed.
Bob and Val were the first ones there, Bob wearing a stunning Santa suit. Val was bedecked herself and immediately took over leaning on the microwave door for me as that's the only way it would work. Mel showed up next with wine and Frango mints and I put her to work lighting candles and it just went from there.
Fats and Kristi Rose----well, there are no words for their particular combination of talent and charm. Lovely, lovely people. The new Christmas album is lovely as well. It's not a typical Christmas album---it's really a beautiful, contemplative collection of songs----not just a quick run down of standards as some Christmas albums are. You can read a bit about the making of it here and you can buy it at Village Records. I recommend that you do!
Look----I'm surrounded by some of my favorite men:
The weather was atrocious and kept a few people away but not too many and when even crowds of rampaging Santas stop in (and gift you with earrings)....well, you just know it's a good party.....
And to top things off, we even got a picture of the beautiful Sophie with her hero Fats.....
And of course, thanks to Richard Hill for the beautiful pictures!
