January Gray (not a bad name for paint)

Me

I need something to cheer me up.  Not that I'm way down....I just feel like the day...kinda gray.  Our friends are coming for dinner tonight which is a bright spot....and we had dinner at Fries and Peanuts last night with Ann and Bob and Sophie which always makes me happy.  The boys got grumpy halfway through though....not sure what happened.....Ernie got into his pool playing mode with Bob (I love watching Ernie play pool---he looks so beautiful) so I took off early with the guys.  Walking out of fries and peanuts I had the strangest feeling with the two of them trailing me.....realizing how tall they are getting.  It's as though I had a little flash of what it will be like to have two big hulking men with me at some point in time....  My sweet babies.  As soon as we got home Leo grabbed a book and announced he was going up to bed to read.  It was all of 7:30.  Is he my boy or what?  I was restless.  I tried to read, I looked at the computer....watched CNN for awhile....it all made me mildly grumpy. I finally went to bed.  Tried to convince Ernie to come watch tv upstairs....I knew it was a lost cause.  I crawled into bed and tried to slowly reread my favorite Georgette Heyer novel (These Old Shades).  I'm trying to go slowly so I can savor it.

It might just be January grayness....and of course I think February is weighing on me a bit.  The anniversary of my mother's death and Judi's death.

It will be o.k.  Maybe I just need some more paint samples.
