The Strange Pull of Familiarity
I was so relieved after Dr. Graham told us that Ernie's PSA was undetectable that I just kind of zoned out while we were in the infusion suite....right into a pleasant spaciness that was the perfect state for the Ladies Home Journal that I was reading. After his zometa infusion he gets his zoladex injection. It goes into his stomach and they usually bring him into one of the little rooms so he doesn't have his stomach hanging out for all to see. We had one of our favorite nurses today and as she led us into one of the rooms I sat down and I had this sense of pleasure. It was the oddest thing. She was adjusting the bed and somehow sitting next to a hospital bed just felt so familiar that it felt good. Good! Isn't that odd? I guess it's all those hours I have spent next to hospital beds in the last few years....it just felt so familiar that it felt comforting. I kind of mentally shook my head but the feeling persisted.
Funny.
