Tomato Plant Corpses, Phil Lee and Other Random Notes
1. Well, I must say.....any day that starts out with a message on facebook that says, "hey Cynthia, it's me, phil lee, the guy with his head on your boob in the profile pic...," well....it's gotta be a good day.
2. The boys seem a bit lukewarm about the new Lego room because it's got an old dining room table in it and they'd prefer tables lining the perimeter of the room. Sometimes all I can do is stare at them. I want to just slap them because for God's sake I just turned an entire room in the house over to Lego but then again....actually I kind of understand....it would be cool. And I would no doubt acquiesce but I've got two bookshelves in there and not a square inch of wallspace in the rest of the house. This house seemed SOOOO big when we bought it. Back then we had a bedroom, a guest room, an office and a record room upstairs. Now we have three bedrooms and a Lego room. Life changes, huh.
3. This morning Owen said something I didn't know how to respond to so I just hugged him and told him I loved him. So he said, "you know Mom, sometimes when you don't know what to say to me you just tell me you love me." I said, "uh, you're right Owen. And I love you."
4. He also asked me about what I was reading on the computer. It was an article about the Governor of Wisconsin, who is stripping gay couples of their right to visit each other in the hospital. Think about that for a second. I KNOW. So I sadly explained it to Owen and he just paused and looked at me and said, "REALLY? Some people just have problems Mom" and sighed deeply. God I love that boy.
5. Have I MENTIONED that my beloved JIMMIE DALE GILMORE IS PLAYING AT THE CASTLE THEATRE? I know....I almost feel weak just typing that! Yup, Thursday, June 23, 2011. I bought my tickets without bothering to check my calendar....
6. I'm very sad that the Jans Project isn't playing this week at Cowboy Monkey. If you could help me in sending prayers and practices and peaceful thoughts to my friends in St. Louis it would be much appreciated.
7. Here's Ernie holding a little tomato plant corpse. Was it broken in the rain or did a rabbit breach my raised bed? Did she jump or was she pushed?
